Spreading money across several platforms makes it easy to lose track of balances, deposits, pending withdrawals and the terms of each account. The aim of tracking is not to open more accounts, but to know exactly where your money is. This page lists what to record and how, using a spreadsheet you control. It reviews no software and recommends no firm.

A ticked box is your own answer, not verification, and the count is not a score or a safety rating. Nothing is saved or sent from this page.

Why Tracking Matters

Without a single view, losses can hide in the gaps: money moved between platforms, a bonus that locks funds, a withdrawal that has been pending for weeks. A combined record makes those visible. It also stops you counting the same money twice when you decide how much to risk. See risk management for multiple broker accounts for position sizing across accounts.

The Columns to Use

A simple sheet needs: account name, legal entity, date opened, total deposited, total withdrawn, current balance, pending withdrawals, last statement saved, terms noted and next review date. Add a notes column for anything unusual, such as a verification request or a change to the terms. The trading journal tool can log individual trades; this sheet sits above it.

Track Withdrawals Properly

Record the date you asked and the date the money arrived, for every withdrawal. Over time this shows how long each account takes in your own experience. The withdrawal time tracker does the arithmetic. If a withdrawal stalls, your dates help when you contact support; see common causes of withdrawal problems.

Keep Security Tidy

More accounts mean more passwords and more targets for phishing. Use a different password for each, turn on any extra verification a platform offers, and never share login details. See phishing scam warnings.

Limits

Tracking does not make any account safer or any firm more reliable. Holding several accounts increases the number of terms to read and the number of places where something can go wrong. This page is general information, not advice, and it does not suggest how many accounts to hold.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I hold accounts with several brokers?

That is your choice. This page only describes how to keep records if you do.

Can a spreadsheet replace platform statements?

No. Save the official statements as well, and use the sheet to compare them.

What should I do about a balance that does not match my records?

Check for pending items and fees, then ask the firm for a statement in writing and keep the reply.

Is there a tool that does this automatically?

Some products may exist, but this page names none and cannot vouch for any. Be careful about handing account logins to third parties.
