Activity is often busier when two markets are open at once, so many traders want to know when sessions overlap in their own time zone. This tool does that arithmetic. You supply the opening and closing times, in UTC, of the two sessions; it shows the overlap in UTC and in a time zone you choose. It does not know any market's hours.

The opening times above are placeholders. Enter the hours published by the exchange or market you care about. The tool only works out the overlap of the two sessions you type in; it does not know any market's hours.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Look up the opening and closing times of each market on the exchange's or market's own published schedule, and convert them to UTC.
  2. Enter the four times. The values already in the boxes are placeholders, not real market hours.
  3. Choose your time zone to see the overlap in local terms.

Where the Hours Must Come From

Market hours are set by exchanges and market operators and they change: holidays, early closes, clock changes in different countries and operator decisions all alter them. For that reason this page claims no hours. Take them from the official schedule of the market you trade, and re-check them when clocks change.

The offset for your chosen time zone is taken from today's date, so a result near a clock change may be an hour out on other dates. Use the converter on the news calendar page for single events.

An overlap is a period when two sessions are open together, nothing more. It does not make trades more likely to win, and busier periods can also bring wider spreads and faster moves. Whether session timing helps your approach is something to test; see session timing and market hours strategy, binary options trading hours and the London session strategy.

Limits

This page uses only the numbers you type in. It does not fetch prices, payouts or schedules, it does not know your platform, and its output is not advice or a prediction. Check your platform's own terms and test any plan on a demo account first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the tool know when markets open?

No. You enter the times from the official schedule.

Why does it ask for UTC?

UTC does not change with daylight saving, so it is a stable reference for the calculation.

Does an overlap mean better trades?

No. It means two sessions are open together. Test whether it suits your method.

What if a session passes midnight?

The tool handles sessions that wrap past midnight in UTC.
